The film 'Mouna Ragam' (1986) featuring Karthik and Revathi remained as a classic. After 28 Years, Mani Ratnam is planning to remake his own flick.
Reportedly, Dulquar Salman (Malayalam actor - Bangalore Days fame) and Nithya Menon will be playing lead roles. While AR Rahman composes music, Cinematographer PC Sreeram teams up with Mani Ratnam after several years for this project.
It is known that Mani Ratnam's plans to do a multi-starrer with Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Aishwarya Rai and Shruti Haasan failed miserably. Even Ram Charan turned down the script narrated by him. So, He opted for a Romantic Drama with good actors rather than trying to chase top stars.
Will this move help Mani Ratnam revive his career which is in doldrums post the failures of Raavan and Kadali?
