Dad wasn't 100 Percent Happy: Manjula

Generally, Top Stars down South doesn't want their Daughters to turn Actresses. That's what happened in the case of Manjula (D/O Superstar Krishna) as well.

Manjula: 'Actually, Dad wasn't 100 percent happy when I decided to turn an Actress. He gave his consent half-heartedly just because he doesn't want to discourage me. When Fans objected, I realized it's my responsibility to safeguard Family Reputation. That's why, I myself dropped the idea of becoming a main-stream heroine. I could have done the films against the wishes of Fans. Instead, I respected them as my Dad is like king for them and this is his Kingdom. When I thought of doing certain roles, I used to say to Directors that I willn't do this & I willn't wear that! Finally, I decided it's better to stop acting rather than imposing too many restrictions'.

Actually, Krishna's Wife & Mother used to say to Manjula that she would rule Tollywood had if she was born as a Boy. Her launch pad opposite Balakrishna was shelved after Ghattamaneni Fans didn't allow the shooting to take place.

For the past 10 Years, Manjula isn't active in Film Industry. She is enjoying motherhood to the fullest after the birth of her Daughter Jhanvi. Manjula is ready to encourage her Daughter if she wishes to be an Actress in future.

Manjula is making her directorial debut now. While Krishna felt so happy to know about it, Mahesh Babu cautioned her sister saying the job of a Director is so difficult.
