Actress Sonali Bendre was effected with cancer last year and she managed to successfully came out of it by staying strong and undergoing proper treatment. The 'Indra' heroine never shied away from talking about it and she recently opened up why she chucked wearing a wig.
Speaking about it on Kareena Kapoor's radio show, "I really had my wig and everything planned and I will put it on. It was so awkward sitting in a wheelchair. I said, âYou know? I donât want to be in a wheelchairâ. I am tired and I donât want it. I said âyou know what? Chuck it. This is what it isâ."
Undergoing treatment for cancer demands a lot from you and speaking about her inner turmoil, she says, "I didnât want to go to New York. It was my husband who wanted to go. And I fought with him all through the flight. âWhy are you doing this? We have good doctors here. Why are you taking me away?â My home, my life... in three days, we literally just packed and left and, I donât know, what was happening. I was like letâs, at least, speak to the doctors here and he was just quiet through the whole thing and focused. In the day, he was organizing and, in the night, as New York was wake; so he was organizing, so day and night--he was at that. So I got him and actually cribbed about the whole thing, on the flight. Through the flight, I have cribbed; I was really venting."
