Metropolitan court Issues Non-Bailable warrant Against Shankar!

Celebrated filmmaker Shankar made it to the headlines, after a Metropolitan Magistrate Court slapped the director with a non-bailable warrant in a case over plagiarism.

The case traces back to 2010. A writer, who goes by the name Arur Tamilnadan has accused Shankar of plagiarism.He alleged that Shankar's Enthiran, Robo in telugu was copied from his story.

According to the petition, he has filed, Arun Tamilnadan has written a story titled Jiguba. He accused Enthiran of plagiarism.

The writer who claims to have written the story in 1996 has filed a case against Shankar after the release of Enthiran.

The case has been going on over the past few years. With Shankar and his lawyer skipping the court hearing in multiple occasions, the Egmore Metropolitan Magistrate Court II issued non-bailable warrant against the director. The court has adjourned the next hearing to February 19.


The Super Star Rajanikanth starrer Enthiran tells the story of a scientist Vassegaran who builds a andro-humanoid Robot. Things turn ugly, when the robo starts falling for Vassegaran's love interest, played by Aishwarya Rai.
