Ram Gopal Varma's Murder is all set to hit the screen on December 24. The film is based on the honour killing of a Dalit guy Pranay in Miryalaguda region of Telangana when he married Amrutha, daughter of Maruthi Rao.
Maruthi Rao allegedly hired goons and brutally murdered Pranay in September 2018. The incident shook the entire nation and stayed in the news for a long time.
Ahead of the movie release, the controversial director wanted to organise a press meet in Miryalaguda. But, the local police has now given a jolt to RGV that they denied permission for the press meet. As per reports, the police felt that RGV's press meet could evoke unrest in Miryalaguda area and so they declined the permission.
Responding to this, RGV tweeted, "Since we are not given permission for MURDER press meet at Natraj theatre in Miriyalaguda we are cancelling for the moment...But will surely come later...I thank the S P Garu for his cooperation."
Directed and written by Anand Chandra, the film will be presented by Ram Gopal Varma.
