Mixed Ride For Telugu Films In The USA

Update: 2022-01-03 11:08 GMT
The USA box office performances of Tollywood's December outings are proving to be a mixed ride. While Akhanda, which released early this December turned out to be a hit, other films like Pushpa: The Rise and Shyam Singha Roy are in a spot of bother.

Shyam Singha Roy's breakeven target is $1 million and Pushpa' breakeven mark is $2.8 million.

Till now, Shyam Singha Roy has collected $760K in the USA. As for Puspa: The Rise, the film has collected around $2.35 million.

As of now, it is unclear if either Pushpa or Shyam Singha Roy will even breach the breakeven mark. This is a strange scenario for everyone involved with both these projects.

Then comes Sree Vishnu's recent outing Arjuna Phalguna, which is disappearing without a trace at the box office. After a weak start in the domestic market, the film could not hold well in the USA either.

With a mere $26K collections in four days, Arjuna Phalguna is turning out to be a box office dud in the USA market. The pricing in Hyderabad - Rs 295 in multiplexes is also taking a toll on the film's collections.
