Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal who is busy with films Janata Garage and Manamanta is finding tough time to free up from a case that was filed against him long back. In 2012 a criminal case registered against actor for appearing in a film poster holding a cigar in the hand. He posed for an advertisement for his film 'Karma Yodha' holding cigar in his hand. Posing with Cigar in hand is against the rules and hence a criminal case was booked on him for offending law.
Summons has been issued to Mohanlal by the Judicial First Class Magistrate regarding the case. After the First Class Magistrate of Thiruvannathapuram court refused to drop proceedings, Now the actor has reportedly approached Kerala High Court and requested the court drop the case against him regarding the poster.
In his plea to HC Mohanal said that he is neither director producer or distributor of film. The actor said that the poster was just for publicity purpose and said he had no role in designing the poster.
