Update: 2017-12-08 09:43 GMT
It is known that Bollywood film 'Padmavati' has been struggling with release issues because of the controversial aspects.  In a recent development, Bombay High Court made serious comments on the protests going on across the country against the film.  The bench has questioned 'Will this kind of things happen any other country in the world?  Artists and performers will be threatened for their lives in any other country?

The judges Bharati Dangre.. Dharmadhikari said that Many people work so hard in the making of a film.  It is really sad that a film's release has been stopped after the completion of the shooting.  A feature film cannot be released in this country. What situation we'are in now? Where are we heading?

They have expressed their concern over the open death threats.  Justice Dharmadhikari said that "Somebody says -I'll give a reward if you get an artist killed .. and chief ministers are saying that they will not allow the release in their states.  This is a different type of censorship.  When this kind of things happen to the people who have financial strength, what about the poor people in the country?'
