Nagarjuna Akkineni's upcoming film, Wild Dog, which is in the post-production stage, is going to skip traditional theatrical release and heading for a direct OTT release.
The latest reports suggest that popular streaming giant Netflix has acquired the rights of the film and is planning to release on January 26. As per a report, Netflix has bought the film for Rs 27 Cr. If the same amount is collected at the box office, then the film would be a big hit for Nagarjuna since 'Manam'.
However, the actor has nothing to lose as the makers have closed the deal without any risk. After the theatres got opened, a half a dozen noted films have announced the theatrical release in the last few days. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
The film is based on real-life incidents. Produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy, the film also stars Dia Mirza, Saiyami Kher, Atul Kulkarni and Ali Reza in pivotal characters.
