Nagarjuna Says He Is Willing To Pass On His Legacy!

Update: 2019-07-31 07:47 GMT
Nagarjuna started off his career as the son of legendary actor and star of Telugu Cinema, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. While he succeeded in promoting himself as his successor, he created a huge niche for himself as an actor.

He did become a separate branch that grew away from the tree than just building on it. He did build a reputation for himself separate from Akkineni name as his Shiva, Geetanjali, Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu, Manmadhudu, Ninne Pelladutha earned him different name as an all-rounder.

He did admit many times that he is not as versatile as his Father but as a star hero he did have his highs and lows. But his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil are not having similar success as him.

In an interview, he pointed out that even he was criticised at first for his looks, diction and abilities. He slowly could grow beyond them.

He said that nepotism is used as a bad term and he is against it. "Kids or actors coming from famous families will have more pressure and instant judgement is passed on them as if they should be as good as their parents," remarked the actor.

He said that he is ready to pass on his legacy to any actor and it shouldn't be seen as nepotism if someone from his family wants to take it forward.

Nag wishes that Akkineni name will have a long presence in Cinema Industry with his grandchildren and their grandchildren also working in Industry at some capacity and this is just a common wish of his like any other person, he remarked. His Manmadhudu-2 is releasing on 9th August.
