Natural star Nani is gearing up to impress the audience with a different film like 'Shyam Singha Roy'. Directed by 'Taxiwaala' fame Rahul Sankrityan, this movie is hitting screens on 24th December. Sai Pallavi will be seen as a Devdasi in the flashback while happening girl Krithi Shetty is the heroine for the present period's Nani character. The makers have decided to release the film in all South Indian languages.
After organizing a royal event on 14th December in Warangal, the team recently flew to Chennai and released the Tamil trailer. As we know, Nani will be playing two different roles and the character of 'Shyam Singha Roy' who is a Bengali is getting applause. He sported a new look for this character and there were rumors that he put weight for this film. Nani simply said, "There was not much gap between shooting the portions of Vasu and Shyam. I didn't put on weight for the character of Shyam. Perhaps, the beard is gone, I looked a little more chubby, which added to the character. Not as weight wise, but I think character and performance wise, the approach was completely different for Vasu and Shyam. While Shyam belongs to 60s, Vasu belongs to 2020."
Nani spoke a lot about the film and his career to the Kollywood media. He revealed that his dream is to work under legendary Mani Ratnam's direction. While he was supposed to play the lead role in the Telugu version of 'Ok Bangaram', the makers did not fancy a remake but dubbed Dulquer Salman's version instead.
