Since Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, Actor Nani has played a safe game by choosing minimum guaranteed comedy and family entertainers. This move brought him success but at the same time, many people opined that the actor has become monotonous in his choices. To break that image, Nani came up with Jersey earlier this year.
Even though Jersey got critical acclaim, it didn't become a super hit as expected and remained just as a profitable venture. When Nani was asked about the same in a recent interview, he said, "There are a few selling points in Telugu cinema, like fights, romance, sex, and violence. Jersey was made without any of these elements and was able to do a theatrical business of Rs. 30 crores. Everyone lauded the film and it is getting remade into multiple languages, but still, people call it as a flop."
"After MCA, everyone criticized that I became monotonous. When I make Jersey, you say that film is good but the collections are not so encouraging. Tell me what should I do?" he further added. Well, there is a point in Nani's argument but there is no need for him to get aggressive in answering the question. He should have just opined that Jersey deserved a bigger success rather than ranting out on critics and viewers.
