Actresses in our Indian Film Industry need to look desirable and even around the world, actresses are expected to look presentable and desirable. There are magazines that come up with desirable quotient calculators and also come up with lists of who is more famous than others. Well, in such a situation a girl who plans to have a career in Films, cannot cover her body and have to keep the limits in view and show off as much as she can.
But few people don't consider this aspect and start looking at them as the sex objects. Such objectification has to be condemned rather the actresses find themselves being shamed by many for trying to get a job. Recently, Tapsee Pannu had to face such shaming from a group from Tamil Nadu her posts on social media. The group said, "She should be respectable woman to earn people's respect than just be a tool for drool. We respect women as Devi but if she tries to be a vamp with such exposing clothes, then we cannot be her supporters."
Tapsee Pannu reacted to these comments and said, "I am more than responsible as an Independent woman from latest generation. I am happy to be having a career of my own and I don't think my clothes are the problem. It is the way yoy view the world will appear to you. You have to change the way you see and then give people suggestions." The actress does have a point. In a free country, we cannot debate on the clothes a person chooses to wear and this slut shaming and body shaming should stop with immediate effect. Don't you think so too?
