Director Prasanth Neel's intense action-drama 'KGF - 2' is one of the most awaited projects in the country. The first part was a massive success not just in Karnataka but also in the whole country. Many people did not expect much from 'KGF Chapter - 1' but it turned out to be a huge hit. Fours after the release of the first chapter, the 'KGF' team has arrived with the second chapter.
The film is hitting the screens on 14th April. With just two days left for the release, one would expect a huge buzz around the film along with the 'KGF' euphoria clouding the entire nation. Though the trailer got a good response, the makers are unable to create a lot of hype around this film. We have seen movies like 'Pushpa' arriving with massive buzz despite the lack of heavy promotions.
When it comes to 'RRR', the team went all out for the promotions. They gave numerous interviews, toured the main cities of India, organized press meets, held pre-release events and did extensive promotions on social media. It is safe to say that the 'RRR' fever started a week before the film's release and continued till a few days back. This helped a lot in the box office prospects of Rajamouli's pan-Indian film.
Since 'KGF - 2' is also a pan-Indian film, a lot of people hoped it to would generate enormous buzz. Some people even thought that 'KGF - 2' might even go and break some of the records established by the 'Baahubali' franchise. There were a few who stated that Prasanth Neel is going to give a tough fight from Rajamouli in the coming days. But the promotions for 'KGF - 2' are reportedly quite weak.
Though the team is giving interviews in the North and attending press meets in Telugu states and other regions, they are not able to bring the hype and hungama required to recover such huge rates within a short time. The team despite all their hard work is unable to get the hype in Telugu states too where the theatrical business was done for more than 100 crores. The box office prospects are already looking quite dull in Tamil Nadu due to the arrival of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast'. The buyers have spent heavily and bought the rights but the lack of aggressive promotions are expected to affect the openings. Let us wait and see if 'KGF - 2' survives or not.
As we know, this is a pan-Indian film that is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. It is produced by Hombale Films and it features Bollywood actors Raveena Tandon and Sanjay Dutt in key roles
