He even approached Tamil star hero Vijay as well as Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu to play the lead roles in the movie. But because of some unspecified reasons, the project failed to get materialized. After that, Mani Ratnam became busy with his other projects.

Now, this veteran director is planning to start his dream project. But if the buzz is to be believed, Mahesh Babu is not going to appear in this movie and Mani Ratnam is planning to rope in Kollywood actors. Apart from Vijay, he is planning to get Vikram, Simbu on board.

The director also started approaching them. But all the three are very popular heroes and making this combo happen is not an easy thing. The movie will go on sets if the dates of these three heroes match Mani Ratnam is planning to do this movie under his home production banner Madras Talkies. He is currently busy making some changes to the script.
