Nag Ashwin Did It, Krish Didn't?

The life of NTR is more or less an open secret. Most of us knew that his movie life has not many struggles. Since the time he made his debut, everything was a cake-walk for him. With each movie, he has achieved success, stardom and then a permanent place in every Telugu family. When the biopic was announced on him, not many got excited. But the cinematic treatment of a person's life is always exciting and it kept the audiences waited. Finally, the film released today and people started drawing comparisons with Savitri's biopic, Mahanati, especially, in terms of execution.

With Mahanati, Nag Ashwin became successful because of elevating the struggle that Savitri underwent in her life. There is drama in her life that Ashwin caught and presented beautifully on the screen. Every situation, incident or a scene that Nag Ashwin took from Savitri's life was presented brilliantly and completely. Nothing looks half-baked or abrupt. Hence, Ashwin gained the appreciation and received acclaims that he directed the movie with a lot of clarity.

The case was different with Krish. In the film Kathanayakudu, the movie keeps going forward without revealing the struggling side of NTR's career. People were more interested to know and understand the thought process and struggle behind NTR's transformation and choices that he made but Krish tried to make it a film of continuous appreciation for NTR. There is no doubt that Krish directed the film well but he missed the soul of it by not touching any major situation completely. Krish showcased everything in bits and parts but failed to give a view in-depth for important situations.

Being said that, the movie will keep growing in terms of box-office numbers but there will always be a discussion about this in which Savitri biopic scores points over NTR biopic.
