Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep promoted his 'Vikrant Rona' very actively. He went to all the important cities and gave interviews with many media outlets. The movie's buzz was all over social media and people expected another 'KGF' level pan-Indian movie from the Kannada film industry. Undoubtedly, the film was a visual feast and the background score and set work gave a whole new experience to the audience. But the story had nothing new and director Anup Bhandari made a few mistakes. Though the movie is getting decent reviews in Kannada and Hindi, it failed to get a good response from Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam audiences.

Anup Bhandari took a story that was already used in his first film 'Rangitharanga' and made minor changes with it along with upping the budget. This horror thriller which came in Sandalwood in 2015 was a blockbuster and got a lot of awards. Reports suggest that the director took the same story, made a few changes and turned it into 'Vikrant Rona'. With Sudeep as the lead, the budget got increased heavily and the death of pregnant women storyline was replaced by child killing in 'Vikrant Rona'. Looks like Anup Bhandari and Sudeep failed to get a hit in Telugu.

'Vikrant Rona' is a 3D film produced by Zee Studios, Kiccha Creations, Shalini Arts and Invenio Films India. Nirup Bhandari plays an important role.  The film also consists of talented actors like Ravishankar Gowda, Neetha Ashok, Madhusudan Rao, Vasuki Vaibhav and others. Willian David is the cinematographer while B Anjeesh Lokanath provided the music. Jacqueline  Fernandez sizzled in an item song 'Ra Ra Rakkamma' which became a super hit instantly. The film was released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.
