One crore budget film raked 7 crores in 1 st week!!

Actor Nara Rohit’s political drama ‘Prathinidhi’ has turned out to be a surprise hit of the season. The film, which was made on a budget of of nearly a crore rupees  managed to rake in INR 2 crore on its release day and went on to add another INR 5 crore to the total box-office collection at the end of first week , making the grand total to INR 7 crore. This is the best ever opening for a Nara Rohit film.

Trade analysts were surprised that the film has turned out to rake in the money even during election season.

"Nobody expected the film to do so well. On release day, it collected Rs.2 crore in the state and since then slowly and steadily managed to mint about Rs.7 crore in the first week. This is the best ever opening for a Nara Rohit film," trade analyst Trinath told.

Prathinidhi’s released just at the right time to have people love it, just when people were getting frustated with all the election drama. Added to that, the really nice plot with all the twists has definitely helped the movie.

Directed by Prashanth Mandava, the film's story revolves around a common man who kidnaps a chief minister and the repercussions he faces because of that. ‘’Pratinidhi" hit the screens April 25.
