Oscars Delayed Two Months By Virus Outbreak

Update: 2020-06-16 06:57 GMT
The deadly coronavirus delayed the release of many biggest movies and shut the big screens indefinitely. Now, the virus effect is also seen on the 93rd Academy Awards.

The 93rd Academy Awards was originally scheduled for February 28, 2021, but they have been delayed to April 25 because of the ongoing crisis. However, the ceremony will still be held at L.A.'s Dolby Theatre and air live on ABC.

As per the reports, the eligibility period for the awards consideration has been extended to February than the usual December deadline.

That means that the film should be featured between January 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021. As announced earlier, that movies that are premiered on streaming platforms are eligible in Oscar categories for this year only.
