Update: 2018-01-09 17:37 GMT
Films like 'Baahubali'.. 'Dangal' have shattered the existing box office records and they have put Indian cinema on the world map.  At the same time, Censor board also created a sensation by suggesting a record 94 cuts for Bollywood film 'Udta Punjab'.  Though the makers went to revising committee to release the film with minimum possible cuts it is a record till now.  But Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavat'(It was Padmavati earlier) appears to have beaten 'Udta Punjab' by a huge margin if we go by the report of Mumbai Mirror.

There were protests by Karni Sena against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his team alleging that historical facts were distorted in the movie and they would not allow the movie to be screened.  Fearing the backlash from the Rajput groups, the makers postponed the release of the period drama.  When the producers recently announced the release, by changing the title, everybody thought that the issues were resolved amicably.  But the latest report suggests that the makers were suggested a record number of 300 cuts.

They were asked to drop all the references to places like Delhi, Chittor and Mewar in the film by the censor board team headed by Prasoon Joshi.  Sanjay Leela Bhansali is presently making sure that all the changes were made by running pillar to post.  'Padmavat' is slated for release on January 25.
