Rayudu: What if extreme publicity backfires ?

Update: 2017-03-14 13:46 GMT
Star hero films usually doesn't require much publicity.  That doesn't mean the publicity is not at all required.  Moderate publicity is enough for the film.  Because star hero films get huge publicity right from the annoucement of the film due to the present generation social media.  Frankly speaking, the movie will be in the news even before the official announcement.  If we take the example of Pawan Kalyan films.. they will automatically become crazy films ever since the announcement is made.

Usually Pawan is also not of the type who is eager to attend film promotions and bring hype for his films.  But the promotions of his upcoming film Katama Rayudu appears to be over the board. The film makers are running huge promotional campaign at present. They are daily coming up with something.. a poster.. a still..  a song.. a making video in the social media.

Katama Rayudu hoardings are seen everywhere in the the main cities of Telugu states. Even Katama Rayudu posters are appearing on the RTC buses. Though Katama Rayudu didn't have the hype when the film was launched,  it got huge hype after the release of teaser.  But the film makers are still trying to take the hype to the to the new level. Some people are suggesting that this attempt will backfire at the box office,  if the movie content is average.

It is known that the movie is a remake of Tamil hit 'Veeram'.  It's just a routine commercial entertainer.. not a great film. So.. raising hype to the extreme levels is not at all a good idea. This will surely result in superb openings.. if the movie fails to meet the expectations.. it will have negative impact for sure.
