Bollywood actress Vidya Balan shot to super fame with films like 'Dirty Picture', 'Kahani' and 'Tumhari Sulu'. She is balancing both performance-oriented films and commercial films. While the other heroines of her age are doing sister and sister-in-law characters, she is still managing to grab the opportunities as the female lead. Post-Dirty Picture release she faced a  lot of criticism. But she didn't stop selecting such characters.

Currently, she is busy shooting her latest film, 'Shakuntala Devi'. This film is based on Shakuntala Devi who is regarded as the human-computer. While promoting her film she made some interesting comments on people who comment on her. 'People who don't like me don't see my films. After doing films like Dirty Picture and Kahani I learned how to select stories on my own. I am acting across industries with my boldness. Some people might like my selection of scripts and some might not like it. People who might not like me should stop watching my films', said Vidya.

A few months back her film 'Mission Mangal' made good numbers at the box office. After that, she was seen as Ajith's wife in 'Nerkonda Parvay'. Now she is busy with 'Shakuntala Devi' biopic and completed half of the shoot. She made her hair short for this role. 'Dangal' fame Sanya Malhotra will be seen in the role of Shakuntala's daughter role Anupama. Anu Menon is the director and the film is all set to release in the summer next year.
