Pooja's Insignificant Role In 'Beast' Shocks Her Fans!

Amidst much hype and fanfare, Thalapathy Vijay's action drama 'Beast' was released on Wednesday. Despite Vijay's star power, all the film managed to do was disappoint the viewers who walked into the theatre expecting something entertaining. The film ended up getting mixed reviews and Nelson Dilipkumar is being criticized for losing his own style in order to satisfy Vijay's fanbase.

There is another aspect that disappointed the audience and it is the character of the heroine. Pooja Hegde promoted this film quite aggressively. She even took time to popularise the 'Arabic Kuthu' song in the middle of 'Radhe Shyam' promotions. She termed it as her comeback into Kollywood after a decade.

One would expect something interesting from her in 'Beast' prior to the release but all she did was to sizzle in songs and appear in a blink-and-miss role. She was present only for a song in the first half and her fans are enraged at the director for giving her an insignificant role. A fan who watched the film in theatres said, "Nobody would have recognized her if it hadn't been for the two songs released prior to the film's release. This is disappointing at many levels."

It is quite common for heroines to get restricted to songs and a few scenes in star hero films but Pooja's role is quite silly which served no purpose for the film. 'Beast' is produced by Sun Pictures and Nelson directed this flick. The film also has Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Bjorn Surrao, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, Shine Tom Chacko and others playing key roles. Manoj Paramahamsa is the cinematographer while Nirmal is the editor.
