Popular Actors Booked For Violating Lockdown Rules

Days after Tamil actors Vimal aka Vemal and Suri were fined by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department for trespassing into a forest area in Kodaikanal, now, a police complaint has been filed on them for travelling to Kodaikanal without e-pass.

During the investigation, it was found that the actors had travelled to Kodaikanal without any e-pass. Considering this, the police registered a case and appropriate action will be taken soon.

The incident came to light after photos of the actors fishing in Berijam Lake surfaced on social media recently. Following this, the activists lodged a complaint with Kodaikanal Deputy Superintendent of Police Aathmanaban.

In the meantime, the Forest department has imposed Rs 2,000 fine on Vimal and Suri. The police are also booked case on people who assisted them and supplied them the vehicles. It is learned that Vimal and Suri had arranged a car, jeep and accommodation for Khadar Basha from Kodaikanal to travel there. Police seized the car and the jeep.
