Sajid Kamran Khan who is popularly known as Sajid Khan is a Bollywood film director who received a huge shock now. As part of the MeToo movement, he faced the allegations of sexual harassment by three women, namely actor Rachel White, assistant director Saloni Chopra and journalist Karishma Upadhyay. The Indian Film and Television Directors Association, upon receiving the complaints on the same has now suspended filmmaker Sajid Khan for one year.
The IFTDA has apparently felt that Sajid Khan has misused his power. After a thorough investigation of all the complaints, the association took this decision. The surprising thing is that Sajid Khan did not give any explanation after the association provided him with an opportunity to respond to the allegations made on him. At the same time, in one of the earlier interviews, the Bollywood director has admitted his objectionable behaviour towards the women.
Soon after the allegations have come to the light, the actors of Sajid Khan's ongoing project Housefull 4 halted the film's shoot. They have stood by the victims and the producers immediately brought a new director to complete the project.
This came as a welcoming move as the women in the entertainment industry will now have a hope that their problems will be heard, addressed and will also be solved.
