Bahubali2, the movie of the month of April, that entire nation is waiting with bated breath is finding it hard to get rid of protests in Karnataka. The first part, Bahubali: The Beginning created Industry record in box office collections in Karnataka and the buzz about the second part is at a phenomenal high. But Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been in a long tussle about Cauvery river water distribution and last year, the protests against the other state by farmers of either state have gone completely out of hands.
Politicians did not care for finding amicable solutions as both the leaders of state government tried to give popularistic statements to gain public sympathy, the issue became bigger by the day. Even the actors from either state have supported the protests and that has become a throne for Bahubali2 in Karnataka. The distributors of the film in the state are finding it hard to convince the protestors who are boycotting the movie as Satyaraj is one of the key cast members.
Satyaraj, more popular as the character Kattappa gave some heated statements against the Kannada farmers and their nature in general while exhibiting his solidarity to Tamil farmers. Those statements have hurt Kannadigas to no bound and they are boycotting the film, Bahubali2 as a result. To stop this, Karnataka Prabhas Fans association has taken up the responsibility and it is trying to get the situation under control for a smooth release. With huge release planned already, the distributors would lose in crores even if the exhibition of film stops for one day. Well, fans president, Rajiv Reddy called for truce with the protestors and he requested them to let the movie be exhibited as people are waiting to watch the conclusion. He condemned the statements of Satyaraj and said Prabhas Fans won't support such derogatory comments on Kannada people.
