A new ad campaign endorsed by versatile Praksh Raj caused an outcry for its provocative message. The controversial advertisement have some lines saying "kalyana vayassu ponnu irunthaale tension thaane"( 'every girl who reaches her marrying age is a tension for father).
The advertisement shows parents complaining over their daughter with the line which means daughters in their marriage age always create tension. This line has received flak from section of viewers. The full version of the ad is yet to be aired but already some people started protesting about the ad alleging that it showed women in degrading manner.
Prakash Raj said, "#kfj gold ad.With due respect to the concerns of all who have taken offence. I would like to state that it was not the intention. It is aimed at the mindset of people who think girl child is "tension"."
The actor explained further saying, "The ad clearly states it is the rate of gold u gift ..not the girl." The actor further added saying "I respect everyone who have questioned me.. And I promise it was not intended. Hope you see it in the context of its expression .. Thank you."
