She was delighted with the doctorate and she planned to attend the programme. But much to her disappointment, the flight from Mumbai to Bareilly got canceled due to dense fog.
ATC didn't give permission to several flights to fly due to unfavourable weather on Sunday morning. She tweeted just before the flight cancellation that "Weather Gods and Goddesses, please do your thing and clear the skies... I really need to get to Bareilly! #FogLockDown".. "I can't believe the ATC won't let me take off...saying it's not safe..my heart is breaking..this was supposed to be such a special moment. I actually may miss it.."
After the flight cancellation, she revealed that she was waiting at the Mumbai airport since morning but the fog has played spoilsport and she is unable to attend the event in person.
