Sensational director Shankar announced that he will be making a film based on his own 'Anniyan' ('Aparichitudu' in Telugu) in Hindi with Ranveer Singh as the lead. There has been a lot of discussion going around about this project and the latest news we hear is that the producer of 'Aparichitudu' is warning Shankar of taking legal action if this remake gets made.
Shankar is a visionary director who gave us some trend-setting films in the past three decades. After 'Robo', his success rate took a severe beating as his films like 'Snehitudu', 'I' and '2.0' failed to impress the audience. There are complaints over the fact that Shankar is more focused on grandeur rather than subject these days.
But a director of Shankar's standard is one film away from breaking records. This is why Kamal Hassan gave him the chance of making 'Indian 2'. He also agreed to do a film with Ram Charan and now announced another project with Ranveer Singh that is based on 'Aparichitudu'. Jayanthilal is its producer.
Coming to the issue, senior producer V Ravichandran who produced 'Aparichitudu' in 2005 under is 'Ascar Films' banner has stated that he bought the complete rights of this story penned by writer Sujatha. Announcing Hindi version of 'Anniyan' without his involvement has made him angry and the producer is ready to take legal action against Shankar and the production team of Hindi version. He claims that the entire rights of 'Anniyan' are with him and stated it clearly through a press note. He stated that Shankar is an honest man but doing such a thing reportedly surprised him. Ravichandran warned Shankar and team to stop the film immediately. Let us wait and see how the ace director responds to this problem and come up with a solution.
