Update: 2015-02-17 09:10 GMT

Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) came in support of Rajinikanth and at the same time faulted the distributors of 'Lingaa' for tarnishing his image with repeated protests seeking compensation.

TFPC issued a statement reminding films of Rajinikanth have always had very high success rate and People associated with his films have mostly gained. "It's unfair to hold him responsible for the losses of his film Lingaa. We strongly condemn the decision of the distributors to beg for compensation. It's unethical to harass Rajinikanth sir and producer Venkatesh. This matter has to be resolved amicably," says the statement.

The other day, Lingaa Distributors declared that mass begging protest will be launched right before the residence of Rajinikanth as Producer Rockline Venkatesh has gone back on his promise to pay 10 percent of the losses (Rs 35 crore).
