Puneeth To Be Honoured With Karnataka's Highest Civilian Award

Power House of talent, who mesmerized fans and audiences with his acting skills and electrifying dance moves Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar left us creating a big void in the film industry. He passed away with Cardiac arrest. He is a real life hero too. Puneeth has been carrying out humanitarian work from long back.

Taking his valuable contribution towards the field of cinema and his humanitarian work, the Karnataka state Government had honoured the late actor with the Karnataka Ratna Award. Big political leaders have earlier batted for the demand to recommend his name for Padma awards too. However this did not happen.

Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took to Twitter to share the decision taken by the government to honor the actor with the award posthumously.

In a tweet that was made in Kannada and English, the Chief Minister announced the decision. Netizens have shown their support to the post by showering likes on the Tweet.

 "State Government has decided to honor late Sri Puneet Rajkumar with Karnataka Ratna award posthumously," Karnataka Chief Minister tweeted.

Puneeth Rajkumar fans and people of Karnataka are lauding the state government for the decision taken to honor the actor who helped a lot of people who were in need of help. Mainly Puneeth fans are happy that the government will honor the beloved actor with the state award.

Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last at a private hospital in Karnataka capital Bangalore on the 29th of October while undergoing treatment. The actor suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away leaving his family and fans in a state of deep sorrow.

He was laid to rest at the famous Kantireeva stadium next to his father Kanteerava Dr. S Rajkumar with state honours. To create an opportunity for everyone to pay last respects to him, his mortal remains were placed at the stadium before laying to rest.

Stars from various industries and millions of fans have paid their respects and saw the actor for the last time. All the theatres and liquor shops were shut in the state after his demise for a couple of days.
