Wow! Puri Jagannadh Statue in Karimnagar

There is a widespread belief that Tamil audience go to extremes in showing affection towards their favourite stars in the film industry.   We have seen several examples in the past where they have constructed temples for top heroines.  It seems the trend is catching up with Telugu audience also.  We have seen reports of Pawan Kalyan statue being erected by his hardcore fans.  But it was not unveiled as they could not get the nod from Power Star.  In a recent development, director Puri Jagannadh's statue was unveiled in Karim Nagar district.

Puri Jagannadh is known as a dashing director.  He is one of the few directors in Telugu who is regarded as a top director irrespective of his hits and flops.  That's the reason why his films get craze even though he has delivered continuous duds at the box office in the recent past.  Puri has a die hard fan Prabhakar in Kondapur village in Karimnagar district.  He has been fond of Puri Jagannadh films since he was a student.  His fondness for the director is so much that he has erected Puri Jagannadh's statue in his village recently.  

He has invited Puri Jagannadh's son Aakash to unveil the statue.   Aakash bbliged he request and he was thrilled to unveil the statue of his father.  He said that he was moved by the affection and he will be in regular touch with Prabhakar.
