Why Rajinikanth rejected Drishyam remake?

Update: 2015-07-14 06:48 GMT
Inspite of huge success it managed in Malayalam Industry, Superstar Rajinikanth turned down the offer to star in the Tamil remake of 'Drishyam'.

When Director Jeethu Joseph narrated the script, Rajinikanth liked it but had issues with two scenes. While the First One is the scene where protagonist gets beaten up by the police constable, The Second One is the Climax sequence. Rajini expressed the doubt whether his fans would digest if he gets beaten up. Even the filmmaker felt the same and he approached Kamal Haasan later.

Jeethu Joseph promised Rajinikanth that he will meet him soon with a completely new script.

'Papanasam' starring Kamal Haasan has been received well by the critics and Tamil audience. Film Lovers unanimously said the Tamil remake is as good as the original. But, 'Baahubali' storm had a huge impact on its Box Office revenue.
