Actually Rakul was supposed to work with both AR Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu earlier. When Murugadoss suggested fresh-face Rakul's name to hero Vijay after auditions, they rejected her and gave the lead role to Kajal. At the same time Rakul missed out Brahmotsavam of Mahesh due to dates clashes.
Finally she got lucky with both of them at same time as she's working on Mahesh Babu's "Agent Siva" (Tentative title) that is being directed by Murugadoss.
