A few weeks back, North Indian producer Boney Kapoor surprised everyone by announcing the third project in a row with Thala Ajith Kumar. The senior producer will be bankrolling Ajith's 61st project. Not just Boney Kapoor but this is the third film in a row for director H Vinoth with Ajith Kumar. It was Vinoth who directed 'Nerkonda Paarvai' and 'Valimai' under Boney's production.
Coming to 'AK61', the film reportedly went on floors and Ajith will be playing both hero and villain in it. Apparently, he will be playing a dual role in the film and his fans will have a feast in theatres watching their hero deliver a solid performance in two roles. One of India's finest actresses Tabu is doing a crucial role in this film as per reports. Tabu's last South Indian film was 'Ala Vaikunthapuramlo' in which she played the role of the hero's mother. She acted in various Hindi films recently and her 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' will be hitting the screens on 20th May.
Coming to the heroine, slim Punjabi girl Rakul Preet Singh will be seen romancing Ajith in this film. This is Rakul's first star hero film in a long time in the South. She is focusing mostly on Hindi films lately as the offers dried up in the South after a series of failures. Rakul is expected to change her fortune with Ajith's film and let us wait and see whether it happens or not.
The makers are yet to decide on the title and Nirav Shah is the director of photography for this project. Despite a bad talk, 'Valimai' got good collections in Tamil Nadu but Ajith is hoping to score a big hit and hope it happens with 'AK61'.
