Ram Charan's release plan for RRR and Acharya

Update: 2022-01-02 13:40 GMT
The entire Indian film fraternity was hopeful that RRR will be the big event film to pull the audience to theatres in big numbers. But in the very last minute, RRR's release has been postponed and this came as a rude shock to not just everyone involved with the project, but also the common audience. The unforeseen postponement was rather met with flak from fans and followers. But it needs to be noted that the film was released in view of the spike in Covid cases across the country and the consequent restrictions on seating capacities at cinema halls across the state.

Now that RRR's release has been postponed, Ram Charan has etched out a perfect release plan for both RRR and Acharya. He has even taken the final call in this regard. As per our sources, Charan has made it clear to the makers of Acharya will have to release only after RRR. Well, it has been over 3 years since Ram Charan was seen on the big screens. This adds to the hype surrounding RRR. If Acharya releases ahead of RRR, the excitement factor goes down. This is the main reason why Charan has decided to place RRR above Acharya. This would ultimately mean that Acharya, which was initially announced for theatrical release on the 4th of February 2023 is no longer on the same course. The film's release might get postponed indefenitely.

"Inspite our relentless efforts some situations are beyond our control. As many Indian states are closing theatres, we are left with no choice but to ask you to hold on to your excitement. We promise to bring back the Glory of Indian Cinema and at the right time, WE WILL." The statement from the makers of RRR read. This came days after Maharashtra and Delhi government's ordered the closure of cinema halls in these two states. Given the fact that the north Indian belt has taken a blow due to the orders from the governments of Maharashtra and Delhi, the makers of RRR have decided to track back on the release and they announced that the film will not be arriving in theatres on the 7th of January.
