Usually our film titles will be the names of hero characters in those films. It is a simple practice our film makers follow. Did you ever notice a film which is named after a villain ? It's very rare but.. Ghazi title is one of them. It is known that Ghazi is the name of pakistani submarine. How Ghazi was destroyed by Indian Navy forms the story of the film. It is really surprising that the film makers have opted for this title.
But Rana is saying that they have opted for this title after several discussions. He said that "When we started the film, we did not know which title suits this film. People do not know about submarine.. they do not know the events that led to the 1971 India - Pakistan war. Even though the story took place in Vizag, the people in Vizag didn't know about it. When we tried to learn the history as part of research, it is there in the name of INS Ghazi. Even I remember reading the same name while I studied".
"Going by all this, we got to know that 'Ghazi' is somewhat familiar word to the people. We have decided the title Ghazi so that at least Navy persons will connect or.. the people who has some understanding of the incidents related to Ghazi will connect to the movie".
That's the reason why film makers finalized the title Ghazi.. not Arjun Varma or Commander Arjun Varma !
