Rangasthalam Breaks Agnyathavasi's Record

Update: 2018-03-31 05:27 GMT
Agnyathavasi even though ended up Pawan Kalyan's worst ever disaster film in his career, even pushing aside Panjaa and Komaram Puli, still put up many first day records that are unimaginable for few stars.

In Tamil Nadu, not many Telugu heroes are popular and except few areas like Chennai and surroundings of Chengalpattu district, Telugu films also do not get a wide release.

Agnyathavasi managed to put up a 24 lakhs gross in Chennai City on first day proving the combination popularity for Sankranthi.

Now, Rangasthalam has beaten that record by collecting 25 lakhs gross on Day one. Aadhi Pinisetty and Samantha Akkineni are popular figures in Tamil Cinema and that would have also helped the movie in putting up such a record number.

Also, Tamil film Industry is under a shutdown as a protest against Digital Service Providers. This is the first big budget film that released during this time period. This might have also factored in creating interest in audience there.

Now, the movie is receiving praises that it is completely rustic and rugged like several village dramas from Tamil Cinema. Let's see if people of Tamil Nadu, will also embrace our Rangasthalam.
