Rashmi Gautam made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Car of this Anchor-turned-Actress hit a pedestrian at the Angnampudi Highway near Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam on Sunday night. The injured person was identified as Sayed Abdul. He was rushed to the nearby Government Hospital initially and then shifted to a private hospital.

Reportedly, The mishap happened when Rashmi was on her way to residence after the completion of the shoot of a web-series in a vehicle provided by the Production House. Duvvada Police registered a case and took Car Driver MA Gautam into custody. Rashmi got away with minor scratches.

Rashmi: 'It's very unfortunate. This Man was running across the highway at a point where there were no lights. Though many people didn't bother to stay there, I took the responsibility to inform about it to the production team and even tried to get an ambulance. Upon knowing that the ambulance was 40 minutes away, Myself and My Driver carried the victim to the Government Hospital. None of the hundreds of people watching us offered to help. That's why I realised why people hit and run. People were busy taking my pictures and videos in that sort of situation. I was disappointed with the attitude of the public'.

In the end, Rashmi concluded she has got every reason to blame the victim but took the responsibility to admit him in a private hospital. She informed that condition of the injured person is stable. 'Who should be blamed? The Person who preferred to cross the highway instead of taking a foot-over-bridge or the local authority who failed to provide lights on the highway??,' questions the Anchor.
