BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan had earlier raised Bollywood drug in parliament and said drug addiction is in the film industry too. He urged central govt to take strict action, apprehend the culprits soon, give them befitting punishment & bring an end to conspiracy of neighbouring countries.
Reacting to Ravi Kishan's statement, MP Jaya Bachchan
rebutted Ravi's comments in parliament. She said just because there are some people, Ravi can't tarnish the image of the entire industry.
"I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame. People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that govt tells such people not to use this kind of language," she said.
However, Ravi Kishan was expecting to get support from Jaya. He stated that Jaya didn't hear his statement while he was attempting to protect Bollywood. He added that maybe a few actors do consume drugs and clarified that not all the celebs do it.
