Superstar Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for 'Maharshi' movie under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally. A long time ago, Mahesh has rejected a big budget movie offer from a star director. Apparently, director Mani Ratnam approached Mahesh Babu for 'Nawab' movie and the 'Dookudu' actor said no to his offer.

At that time, Mani Ratnam also suffered from a series of disasters and was planning to get back into the form. He tried to make a big budget movie with Tamil star hero Vijay and Tollywood Superstar Mahesh. The movie is being made with the budget of 100 crores. Both Suhasini and Mani Ratnam narrated the script to the duo heroes. Mahesh gave Green Signal initially but hasn't shown much interest on the script. However, he finally rejected the script. This happened a long time ago and as soon as he rejected this big-budget movie he accepted 'Brahmotsavam' and 'Spyder' movies. However both the movies became disasters. On the other hand, Vijay also became busy with his other commitments. Rumours came out that neither of the heroes is showing interest in doing Mani Ratnam's movie as the director has dented his image with his previous flop movies.

After so many trials, Mani Ratnam has finally convinced Aravind Swamy. After that starts like Simbu, Arun Vijay also joined this project. Jyothika and Prakash Raj also got roped in and after completing the shooting, the movie is now gearing up to hit the screens soon. The trailer and posters of the movie already garnered a positive response from the audience and if the movie becomes a hit, the star heroes Mahesh and Vijay might regret their decision. Let's see what happens..
