Even Today, Amitabh Bachchan regrets failing to fulfill the promises he made to the people as a politician.
In 1984, Amitabh made foray into politics in support of his good friend Rahul Gandhi and won from Allahabad Lok Sabha segment with a huge margin. Big B, however, resigned after a 3 years stint as he realized politics wasn't his cup of a tea.
Amitabh claims he made a lot of promises to the people of Allahabad during the election campaign. He wasn't able to fulfill them and his inability to live by his words hurts him so much. This is the only thing he regrets in life! He firmly believes people of Allahabad will always remember him as someone who hadn't kept his promises.
When quizzed about the decision to join politics and quit it, Bollywood Megastar admits joining politics was an emotional decision and he did it for his friend. Very soon, He realized there is nothing to do with emotions and he is unfit for it.
