Renu Desai is one among the millions of Indians who oppose the release of 2012 Delhi Gangrape juvenile convict from jail barely three years after undergoing the punishment. "As Indians we only burn d paper Ravan every year on Duserra but why r we, as society, incapable of punishing d real Ravans who rape? How many of us know the juvenile rapist name and face? Why is he being given his privacy after committing such a heinous crime? #nirbhaya," she questions.
The former actress expressed her anguish on the practice of tax payers money being spent on the criminals. She told, 'While citizens skip meals & face health issues due to late night meetings and deadlines, Convicts get to get three meals a day & full sleep'.
Stating that lakhs of criminals are eating in jail only because of millions of people working hard sincerely inspite of facing many challenges, Renu Desai rued about the fact that all that one can do in the end is voice their frustration on social media.
