Update: 2022-01-20 13:30 GMT
Ever since the ticket prices were reduced in Andhra Pradesh, the difference in collections between the Nizam area and the others is clearly seen. Films that got blockbuster talk have ended up with losses in Andhra and Ceeded region. 'Pushpa' and 'Shyam Singha Roy' are prime examples of it. Many thought that the Sankranti release 'Bangarraju' will have the same result but it is quite the opposite.

The Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer is marching towards a super hit tag in Andhra and Ceeded regions while 'Bangarraju' is witnessing losses in the Nizam area. In the first weekend, the collections in Andhra Pradesh were around 15 crores while it is a mere 5 crores in the Nizam area. Many thought that the collections in Andhra Pradesh are more because of people who go to their own villages during the Sankranti season. They expected the Nizam collections to rise after a few days but it is not the case.

The money from the Nizam area and especially Hyderabad city are quite low. The film managed to get only 8 crores till Wednesday while there were houseful boards in some theatres of Andhra Pradesh even now. This drastic difference between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana collections is making the analysts scratch their heads. They are unable to find the reason behind it.

This movie is a sequel of 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' which came during the Sankranti season of 2016 and emerged as a big hit despite the competition from 'Dictator' and 'Nannaku Prematho'. After five years, 'Bangarraju' arrived with a lot of expectations. Ramya Krishna will be seen as the female lead beside Nagarjuna while happening young beauty Krithi Shetty will be romancing Chaitanya. 'Jathi Ratnalu' fame Faria Abdullah is doing a special song in this movie. Kalyan Krishna Kurasala is the director while Anup Rubens is the film's music composer.
