RRR Makers Eyeing New Sankranthi Release Date

Update: 2021-08-30 05:27 GMT
It is confirmed that RRR won't be arriving in theaters this Dasara season. The film has left the Dasara release slot open and films like Akhanda, and Acharya are eyeing the same. The makers of RRR are now sizing up other release options and they have a couple of release plans in mind. The latest we hear is that RRR is all set to lock Sankranthi release window. Reports are suggesting that the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer will be releasing in theaters on the 7th of January next, just ahead of the lucrative Sankranthi season, which is believed to be a gold mine for Telugu films.

It is heard that RRR has locked 7th January as its release date and the same will be announced in a press meet that will be organized by team RRR in the next few days. With the entire shooting part wrapped up, the makers have a clear plan so as the release window. The post-production works are well on track and Rajamouli is confident of wrapping up the same by the end of this year.

RRR is the most awaited Telugu film and it has registered exceedingly good pre-release business in the northern circuit and overseas as well. The makers have been trying to lock an optimal release date for the film and they felt 7th January serves the purpose. This way, the film can get off to a good start at the box office and also cash in on the fruitful Sankranthi season which will be arriving less than a week post the film's theatrical release. If RRR releases ahead of the Sankranthi season, it can also make merry with other Sankranthi releases like Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Radhe Shyam, and Bheemla Nayak. These films will be out in theaters the succeeding week.

Team RRR is expected to officially announce the release date in a press meet that is scheduled to take place this September. An affirmative and conclusive update on the release date will be provided in this media meet. It is known that the Rajamouli directorial stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, and others in important roles.
