Rajanikanth yet again enters the record book! He has become the highest paid actor in Asia with his forthcoming flick 'Lingaa'. If the reports are to be believed, Superstar charged a whooping Rs 60 crore as his salary for this much-awaited project.
Reportedly, Eros International has shelled out Rs 170 crore for Worldwide theatrical rights of 'Lingaa' for three languages (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi). The production cost of 'Lingaa' is said to be around Rs 75 crore (excluding Rajini's salary). So, Producer Rockline Venkatesh (Power fame) has made table profits to the tune of Rs 35 crore from theatrical rights alone. Satellite, Audio and Other Rights would fetch over Rs 45 crore. On a whole, Rockline Venkatesh will be pocketing anywhere around Rs 80 crore with 'Lingaa'.
'Lingaa' audio launch is slated for November 16th. Movie release will be on December 12th to coincide with the birthday of Superstar.
