'Ye Maya Chesave' established Naga Chaitanya as an promising Actor. It was this flick, directed by Gautham Menon, fetched the Akkineni Scion his first success. After many years, They both collaborated again to make 'Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo' which is a blend of romance and action. Is it as good as their previous outing? Let's check it out...

Synopsis:

'Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo' is the story of a Youngster (Naga Chaitanya) who falls in love with her Sister's Friend Leela (Manjima Mohan) when she stays at his home as paying guest. Even Leela starts liking him. After a while, They go on a road trip to Kanyakumari and their bond gets stronger. An unexpected turn here changes the course of their journey. How the Love Birds face the challenging situation forms the rest of the tale!

Performances:

Viewers could clearly notice the maturity levels in Naga Chaitanya when compared to 'Ye Maya Chesave'. Chaitu could proudly say this is one of his career-best performances. He excels both as a lover boy and hot-blooded youth who fights all the odds. He gives a settled performance and even his looks were quite good.

Majima Mohan makes a good impression with her ability to emote well but she lacks the glamour to make the youth go crazy. One gets the feeling that a better looking Heroine could have made the romantic track look even better.

As Hero's Friend, Rakendu Mouly is alright. Baba Sehgal and Daniel Balaji have done a decent job in negative roles.

Pros:

Naga Chaitanya

Romantic Track

Music

Cons:

Second Half

Technicalities:

AR Rahman stood as a backbone for 'Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo'. Songs and Background Score composed by him is a breath of fresh air. Especially, His contribution for the romantic track is priceless & leaves a big impact during Heroine's life n death situation. Cinematography by Donmack Arthur is perfect. The theme maintained throughout made the Visuals look strikingly good. Dialogues were simple yet meaningful. Nothing to complain about Production Values. Gautham Menon's mark is evident during the first half. Placement and Picturization of 'Vellipomake' track shows his calibre as a director. He, however, doesn't impress much in the Second Half due to lack of gripping narration.

Analysis:

Gautham Menon has got a style of his own. He is someone who is very good at making out-and-out love stories or action subjects. For the first time, He blended romance and action to make a film like 'Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo'. Gautham comes out with flying colors once again while handling the romantic track. He, however, wasn't at his best after shifting to the serious mode from Interval Bang.

Romantic Track which lasts for 50 minutes is a major attraction in 'Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo'. Once again, Gautham Menon leaves a mark of his own here. Youth will fall in love with the feel-good romantic track for sure. It also guarantees Musical & Visual Feast. Romantic Scenes, Light-Hearted Comedy, Rahman's Music & Pleasant Visuals stand out in the First Half.

Gautham Menon is known for narrating action subjects in a realistic manner. He, however, chose a regular commercial path in the second half and failed to create the necessary impact. The scenes of Cops & Goons targeting Lead Pair gets repetitive after a point. Few Loopholes in the screenplay makes the audience question about logic. Even the commercial touch in the Climax is something that can't be expected from a director of Gautham Menon's stature. May be, Masses might appreciate it.

Action Episodes are neither boring nor gripping enough. Editing could have been better in the Second Half. Had if Gautham Menon made the film as a full-length love story, The result could have been lot better for sure. Overall, 'Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo' is a different attempt and movie buffs could surely give it a try.

Bottom Line: Only for the Romantic Track!
