South star Samantha Akkineni, who is making her Bollywood digital debut with The Family Man Season 2, has said that Bollywood has the freedom to make films for a distinct kind of audience, which is not the case in the South.
The star opened up about the industry in an episode of "Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films" and said that Bollywood doesn't have to appeal to every single person but in the South film industry, makers have to make sure that they are catering to everyone in the theatre.
"It becomes very restrictive but now with OTT, it's a lot bolder and we're able to take more risks and hence the films that are coming out now are very global," she said.
On the work front, Samantha will next be seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles.
