Samantha plays the role of Journalist who narrates the story of Savitri in 'Mahanati'. Many people might have questioned what is the need for a Star Heroine to essay such a role.
During the audio launch, essaying a main character. 'I knew it's not a main lead role but feel proud to be part of a story which has to be narrated to the people. I had dubbed for this movie because of one particular scene. It's about a scene I speak about a great actress. That's the reason I signed this project,' reveals the Actress.
Samantha explained how much she was connected with that emotional sequence in 'Mahanati'. 'I have done many films as a lead heroine but never did I connect with a role so much before. I did this movie for one particular scene. While doing it, I haven't used glycerin though it went up to 7 to 8 takes. Tears kept rolling even after the completion of the scene. I feel proud to be in the same profession in which Savitri was part off. I thank Nag Ashwin for making Me a part of great story. Rockstar Vijay Devarakonda..it's lovely working with you.
