Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is now being praised as the path breaking filmmaker of Telugu Cinema. His vision, camera sense, music taste all are being referenced to young debutants and producers are asking them to come up with such fresh thoughts. Even though it all seems too easy from outside, Sandeep Reddy shared his struggle in bringing everything to life.
He shared how he was tortured by his crew, mainly his Cinematographer and Music director, Radhan. How he had to go around them to get the work done? He shared all that in detail. He said, " I took Nagesh Bannel, who did Cinematography for Pelli Choopulu and Radhan as music director as Vijay Devarakonda referred them to me. With Nagesh I had to struggle a lot. His ideas and my ideas were never in sync and whatever shots, I used to ask him, he used to deliver something exactly opposite or different to it. I had to fight with him and then, place the camera, wherever I liked to get the shots. After 16 days, I couldn't take it anymore, so asked him to leave the project. Then, I took Thota Raju and he did not trouble me. Hence, I did not give credit to Nagesh as not many of his shots are in the movie."
He continued, " Radhan used to trouble me by not giving the songs on time. By the time, released teaser, we did not even shoot one song. In the movie, songs come as montages and without tracks what should I shoot. Whenever, i used to ask him, he used to tell me he needs time. But when he came to Hyderabad for the promotions of his other movie, Radha, I made him complete two songs recording and shot them. He never used to understand my thoughts and whenever I share him a reference he used to feel bad. But when I just share the thoughts, he used to ask me to give a reference. Unable to handle him anymore, I replaced him with Harshavardhan Rameshwar for Back Ground Score. He understood what I wanted quickly and we were able to finish the movie quick enough!" From this, we can learn that it is not just important to get a producer, it is also important that you get the crew, you can work according to your desires!
